I had a quite a few people reach out to me personally on what happens behind the scenes on a large video shoot for a promo showreel (especially for an illusion show). I really can be quite expensive and involves a lot of logistics and people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my case I was able to use our warehouse\/office. But you still have the camera team, director or video company, staff, dancers & cast, special effects, stage, curtains & lights (we own a lot of this in our case – which helps the budget). Plus editing cost of the video after the fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since pictures can speak a thousand words, hopefully some of the following pics from a previous shoot will give some insight – for those that are interested… This was a four camera shoot (one for special closeups, etc. – plus a photographer to capture everything that day)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(I am not in any of the pics, as this was the pre-video setup and run-through and I was in front coordinating and directing everything. The fellow in the orange shirt is Tom, my assistant director for the day. And you will see some of the other ‘Joe Conrad Illusionist’ team members.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
